Aldi will carry its home delivery service to WA as half of a tie-up with DoorDash in a transfer set to escalate the grocery store wars.
Just weeks after launching a trial in Canberra, the German grocery store says the service will now be obtainable in most of its 52 shops in WA from Tuesday.
Aldi is promising its vary of more than 1800 merchandise — together with fruit, greens, meat, seafood, dairy, bread and family necessities — at a few clicks of a button.
WA turns into the second location to have the service obtainable, with the company planning to roll it out more nationally within the coming months.
It comes as online delivery and click-and-collect providers shortly change into key areas of growth for bigger rivals Coles and Woolworths. In the half-year, Coles and Woolworths recorded a 22.6 per cent and 20 per cent increase, respectively, in online gross sales, outpacing in-store growth.

It is the final main grocery store chain to make home delivery obtainable, after Costco introduced a related partnership with DoorDash in early February to carry bulk-buy items to Australians’ doorsteps.
